If you’re using Trip Assistant without any automations or integrations, you’ll need to either upload or manually create your trips.

Step-by-Step
Uploading A File With Trip Data
If the provider has sent a trip manifest, you can upload the manifest into Trip Assistant to automatically create trips based on the document.
Begin by clicking on Upload Trips at the top of the left-hand sidebar, which will take you to the Upload Trips page. Here, in addition to uploading new trips, you can see what trips have already been uploaded.
Next, select the account the trips should be assigned to. If the selected account accepts more than one kind of trip, select the appropriate category of trip to nest them under. If the account only accepts one type, this category will be pre-populated
Finally, click Browse Files and select the trip file. A dialog box with the upload status will appear in the lower right corner; if the trip is successful, or unsuccessful, this area will display those results.
Manually Creating a Trip
If you want to manually enter the trip details to create your trips, you can easily do so.
Start by clicking on the Create Trip button in the left hand side navigation. This screen is also the default when starting Trip Assistant.
The trip begins with the patient—you can start typing in a patient’s name to select a person already in the patient database, or you can click on the New Patient button to add a new patient to the patient database.
Refer to How to Add a New Patient for detailed instructions, if needed. After selecting the patient, pick the account, and trip type to meet the minimum requirements on this screen, then click Next.
If you have more information to add, you can reveal some additional fields by clicking Additional Information.
The next step is to populate trip information. Complete the required fields—the patient’s home address is filled in automatically as the pickup destination on the first leg of the trip—and then click Generate Return Leg to move to scheduling the second leg of the trip
The form for the second leg of the trip will be mostly completed, as it’s the inverse of the first leg. You can schedule the time for the second leg, which is usually a pickup, or you can click “Will Call” to set the time to 11:59 pm for that day. This allows the driver to wait for the call, rather than having a set pickup time scheduled.
Click Create Trip to finish
What if this is a recurring trip?
If the patient needs to repeatedly take this trip, such as regular dialysis appointments, it’s possible to turn your trip into a recurring trip.
When creating your trip, the top of the Create Trip form has a switch that can be flipped to turn the trip into a recurring trip.
After clicking on, or flipping the switch, you can configure the settings for your recurring trip, such as what days you’d like to have the trips recur—click on the days you’d like to exclude—as well as establishing a date range.
