Auto-Assignment

Updated over 5 months ago

Kinetik’s Trip Scheduler can automatically assign transportation providers to trips based on key factors such as cost and distance, helping ensure the most efficient match.

To enable Auto-Assignment:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Configuration.

  2. Enable Auto-Assignment.

  3. Configure the available options in the Assignment section to meet your workflow needs.

Auto-Assignment Configuration Options

  • Assign all trips in an itinerary to the same provider (Auto-Assignment)
When enabled, this setting ensures both legs of a patient’s trip (e.g., pickup and return) are assigned to the same provider for consistency.
If disabled, each leg will be assigned independently, and the provider may differ.

  • Assignment Window
Defines when auto-assignment should occur relative to the trip’s date of service. Trips will only be assigned if the date of service falls within this window.
    Options: 7, 14, 21, or 30 days.

  • Recurring Itinerary Auto-Assignment Override
Controls how recurring trips are assigned:

    • None: Each itinerary is assigned independently.

    • Apply first itinerary’s assignment to rest of schedule: Automatically assigns all future recurring trips to the same provider as the first.

  • Auto-Revert on Assignment Released Statuses
Automatically reverts trips to assignable status if assignment fails under the following statuses:

    • Assignment Error

    • Assignee Unavailable

    • Assignee Canceled

  • Window to Pause Auto-Assignment
Prevents auto-assignment within a specified number of days before the trip's date of service.
For example, a 3-day pause window will stop auto-assignment for any trips created or retried within 0–3 days before the scheduled date.
This setting can be configured for up to 5 days.
